Scripture teaches that Jesus Christ will come again on the Last Day or Judgment Day (Matthew 25:21-46). We don't know when the Last Day will come (Matthew 24:42; 25:13; Acts 1:7). On that day the dead will be brought to life and judged. Jesus will give eternal life in heaven to all who believe in Him, but those who do not believe in Him will be condemned to hell for eternity.
The Church will remain on earth as the witness of Jesus Christ until that day (Matt. 24:3-14). The increased sufferings and troubles of this world are signs that we are in the Last Days.
We reject the various teaching of Millennialism that
· Christ will return visibly to this earth for a thousand years (millennium) and will establish an earthly government; or
· Before the end of the world the Church will enjoy a time of special prosperity; or
· Before Judgment Day a number of departed Christians will be raised to reign in glory in this world; or
· Before the end of the world a universal conversion of the Jewish nation will take place.
Instead, we wait patiently in the promise of Jesus Christ. “The one who stands firm to the end will be saved” (Mark 13:13).
